Suplementasi Zinc Mempercepat Masa Penyembuhan dan Pencegahan ISPA pada Anak Usia 2-5 Tahun

Abstract

Upper respiratory tract infection or ARI is an acute infection that attacks one component of the upper respiratory tract. West Nusa Tenggara Province has the highest incidence of ARI. In 2016 there were 16,085 cases of ARI in children under five, and in Bima Regency there were 1,429 cases of ARI cases in Bima, which were 1,429 cases in 2016. The benefits of zinc for human health are enormous, this mineral is very helpful for various body functions to run normally. This study was to determine the effect of zinc supplementation on the healing period of ARI and its prevention in children aged 2-5 years in the Work Area of the Madapangga Community Health Center, Madapangga District, Bima Regency in 2018. This type of research was analytical survey research, the design of this study was Quasi-experimental model "Pretest-Posttest. Control Group Design”. The population of this research were toddlers who seek treatment at Madapangga Public Health Center, Bima Regency, with population size of 40 children under five. The sample in this study were toddlers who suffer from ARI, the sampling was using the Quota Sampling technique of 40 toddlers. Research variables were healing period and prevention of ARI. Collecting data using observation sheets and questionnaires. Statistical data analysis used Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, with a significance level of α <0.05. The results of the study of 40 toddlers, as many as 28 children under five experienced changes in symptoms of ARI for the better with an average change of 14.50. Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test test results obtained the p-value of 0.000. The conclusion of this study is that zinc supplementation is very effective in preventing ARI in children aged 2-5 years. In addition, consumption of zinc supplements to children aged 2-5 years has been shown to be effective in healing ARI in this age group.

ABSTRAK

Infeksi saluran pernapasan atas atau ISPA adalah infeksi akut yang menyerang satu komponen saluran pernapasan bagian atas. Propinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat kejadian ISPA terbanyak. Pada tahun 2016 tercatat kasus ISPA pada balita sebanyak 16.085 kasus, dan di Kabupaten Bima tercatat penderita ISPA balita yaitu sebanyak 1.429 kasus tahun 2016. Manfaat zinc untuk kesehatan manusia sangat besar sekali, zat mineral ini sangat membantu berbagai fungsi tubuh agar berjalan dengan normal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi zinc terhadap masa penyembuhan ISPA dan pencegahannya pada anak usia 2-5 tahun di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Madapangga Kecamatan Madapangga Kabupaten Bima Tahun 2018. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian surve analitik, rancangan penelitian ini adalah Quasi-eksperimental dengan pendekaan model “Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design‟. Populasi penelitian ini adalah balita yang berobat di Puskesmas Madapangga, Kabupaten Bima, besar populasi 40 balita. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah balita yang menderita ISPA, pengambilan sampel dengan teknik Quota Sampling sebesar 40 balita. Variabel penelitian adalah masa penyembuhan dan pencegahan ISPA. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan lembar observasi dan kuesioner. Analisis data statistik menggunakan Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, dengan penetapan tingkat signifikansi α < 0.05. Hasil penelitian dari 40 balita, sebanyak 28 balita mengalami perubahan gejala ISPA menjadi lebih baik dengan rata-rata perubahan sebesar 14,50. Hasil Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test diperoleh nilai probabilitas Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah pemberian suplementasi zinc sangat efekif dalam pencegahan penyakit ISPA pada anak usia 2-5 tahun. Selain itu, konsumsi atau pemberian saplemen zink pada anak usia 2-5 tahun terbukti efektif dalam masa penyembuhan ISPA pada kelompok umur tersebut.
