Hubungan Karakteristik Individu dan Gender dengan Work Life Balance

ABSTRACT

 

Work life balance is the balance of time between the demands of work and life for your family or yourself. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between individual characteristics and gender with work life balance in the Surabaya Shipping Company. This research is an analytic observational study. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square Test. The sample in this study consisted of workers who were in the maintenance and repair (Harkan) division of the Surabaya Shipping Company. The variables in this study are individual characteristics, gender and work life balance. There are 110 workers selected using random sampling, data collection using a work life balance questionnaire. The results showed that age was related to work life balance, while gender, education level and years of service were not related to work life balance. The conclusion of this study shows that female and male workers have the same job demands, so gender is not related to work life balance

ABSTRAK

 

Work life balance adalah keseimbangan waktu  antara tunutan pekerjaan dengan kehidupan untuk keluarga atau diri sendiri. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan antara karakteristik individu dan gender dengan work life balance di Perusahaan Perkapalan Surabaya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasional analitik. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Uji Chi-Square. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari tenaga kerja yang berada di divisi Harkan Perusahaan Perkapalan Surabaya. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah karakteristik individu, gender dan work life balance. Terdapat 110 tenaga kerja yang dipilih menggunakan random sampling, penggambilan data menggunakan kuisioner work life balance. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usia berhubungan dengan work life balance, sedangkan gender, tingkat pendidikan dan masa kerja tidak berhubungan dengan work life balance. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tenaga kerja wanita dan pria memiliki tuntutan pekerjaan yang sama, sehingga gender tidak berhubungan dengan work life balance
