Abstract
Nurses are at the forefront of health services, but this profession is often considered difficult and stressful. Various studies have shown that working in the nursing field can cause stress that harms physical and mental health, as well as professional performance. Therefore, this systematic literature review aims to identify risk factors for work stress of nurses in hospital. This study uses a literature review method. The literature was obtained through Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar with the keywords used namely "work stress", "job stress", "occupational stress", "risk factors", "determinant", "nurses", and "nursing staff". The inclusion criteria used in this literature review were publication of articles in the last five years (2020 - 2025) and articles under the search keywords. Meanwhile, the exclusion criteria are articles that are not full text, articles that are not in Indonesian or English, articles that do not use quantitative research methods, and articles that do not follow the research theme. The total results obtained from the keywords are 462 articles, then reviewed again by applying the PRISMA flow diagram and inclusion and exclusion criteria, so that 7 relevant journals were obtained for analysis. Then the results were obtained, there were twenty-one risk factors for work stress of nurses in hospitals that were identified, namely workload, career development, management style, work period, work shifts, working overtime, physical environment, death and dying, emotional readiness, uncertainty of treatment, conflict with doctors, problems with coworkers, problems with supervisors, problems with patients and families, dual role conflict, social support, education, gender, personality, age, and marital status.
