Abstract
Nursing care is a series of professional activities focused on providing services to patients. Nursing care documentation is an essential aspect of professional nursing practice because it reflects the nurse's legal and ethical responsibility for the interventions provided to patients. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of reflective supervision model on the completeness of nursing care documentation at Hospital X, Kupang. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest with control group design. Respondents in this study were 60s nurses from each group. The survey was conducted in January 2026 at Hospital X and Hospital Y, Kupang. Data collection was conducted through observation using a validated documentation completeness checklist instrument based on hospital accreditation standards. The results showed that the majority of female nurses aged 25-35 years with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and PK II in the intervention control group. The improvement in the completeness score for nursing care documentation before (mean 23.07) and after (mean 35.26). There was a difference in the proportion of complete documentation between groups (p-value: 0.000) and a significant difference in the average nursing care documentation score between before and after the intervention (p-value: 0.000). A multivariate analysis (ANCOVA) showed that the reflective supervision intervention was the main predictor of the improvement in the completeness of nursing care documentation (p-value 0.002). Hospitals should establish reflective supervision as part of their routine nursing development program through a director's decree or internal nursing policy, and provide training for ward heads and supervisors. Management should conduct reflective supervision facilitator training for at least 1–2 working days, with materials covering reflective communication techniques, providing constructive feedback, and evaluating documentation based on accreditation standards.
