Pengaruh Virgin Coconut Oil terhadap Pencegahan Diapers Rash pada Bayi

Abstract

Diapers rash is an inflammation that occurs in areas covered by baby diapers, because the skin in that area is too easily contaminated with feces or urine. The incidence of diapers rash in Indonesia has reached 7-35% in 2018. Therefore, non-pharmacological treatment is needed, one of which is using virgin coconut oil. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of virgin coconut oil on the prevention of diapers rash in infants. This study used the literature review method. Information was obtained from Google Scholar with publications in national and international journals from 2017 to 2022. The article search method uses PICOTS. Articles were selected by journal selection, abstract selection by inclusion and exclusion criteria so that 7 journal articles were found. Of the seven articles, significant results were obtained after being given virgin coconut oil therapy with a p value <0.005 for all articles. It was concluded that administering virgin coconut oil was effective in preventing diapers rash in infants with interventions carried out twice a day in the morning and evening.

ABSTRAK

Diapers rash merupakan inflamasi yang terjadi pada area yang tertutup oleh popok bayi, karena kulit di area tersebut terlalu lana terkontaminasi oleh feses atau urin. Angka kejadian diapers rash di Indonesia telah mencapai 7-35% pada tahun 2018. Oleh karena itu perlu penanganan non farmakologi, salah satunya adalah menggunakan virgin coconut oil. Tujuan studi ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh virgin coconut oil terhadap pencegahan diapers rash pada bayi. Studi ini menggunakan metode literature review. Informasi diperoleh dari Google Scholar dengan publikasi jurnal-jurnal nasional dan internasional dari tahun 2017 hingga 2022. Metode pencarian artikel menggunakan PICOTS. Artikel dipilih dengan seleksi jurnal, seleksi abstrak dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi sehingga ditemukan 7 artikel jurnal. Dari ketujuh artikel, didapatkan hasil yang signifikan setelah diberikan tindakan terapi virgin coconut oil dengan nilai p <0,005 untuk semua artikel. Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian virgin coconut oil efektif untuk mencegah diapers rash pada bayi dengan intervensi dilakukan dua kali sehari pada pagi dan sore hari.
