Komunikasi Terapeutik dan Tingkat Kecemasan Pasien Kanker di RSUP Prof. DR. RD Kandou Manado

Abstract

Cancer patients who will undergo therapy often feel anxious about the therapeutic procedures that will be given, and nurses have a key role through therapeutic communication. This study aims to determine the relationship between therapeutic communication and anxiety levels in cancer patients at Prof. Dr. RD Kandou Hospital, Manado. This study used a cross-sectional design involving 60 patients who would receive chemotherapy at Prof. Dr. RD Kandou Hospital, Manado. Data was collected by filling out a questionnaire, then analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. The results of the analysis show that the value of p = 0.09, with r = -0.221. It was concluded that there was no significant correlation between therapeutic communication and patient anxiety in facing cancer therapy procedures.

ABSTRAK

Pasien kanker yang akan menjalani terapi sering merasa cemas terhadap prosedur terapi yang akan diberikan, dan perawat memiliki peran kunci melalui komunikasi terapeutik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara komunikasi terapeutik dengan tingkat kecemasan pada pasien kanker di RSUP Prof. Dr. RD Kandou, Manado. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan cross-sectional yang melibatkan 60 pasien yang akan menerima kemoterapi di RSUP Prof. DR. RD Kandou, Manado. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengisian kuesioner, lalu dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai p = 0,09, dengan r = -0,221. Disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada korelasi yang signifikan antara komunikasi terapeutik dengan kecemasan pasien dalam menghadapi prosedur terapi kanker.
