Introduction. Caregivers are the closest family members who have a health professional background. In caring for chronic or advanced cancer patients who are treated in palliative care, caregivers have a burden on physical, emotional and financial health. Holistic assessment for caregivers is expected to improve quality of life, understanding of disease so that it can help in holistic patient care and can make medical decisions. The aim is to find out the instruments used to measure caregiver burden in palliative patients. The method used in this research was systematic observation carried out in accordance with PRISMA standards. The databases used in the literature search were EBSCOhost, Science Direct, and Scopus. The results of this systematic review summarized 23 articles and obtained 15 instruments to measure caregiver burden, namely: Burden Scale for Family Caregivers (BSFC), World Health Organization Quality of Life Instrument, Short Form (WHOQOL-BREF), Caregiver Strain Index (CSI), Zarit Caregiver Burden Interview (ZBI), Brief Resilience Coping Scale (BRCS), and Caregiver's Burden Scale in End of Life Scale (CBS-EOLC), Family Caregiver Burden Scale (FCBS), Family Appraisal of Caregiving Questionnaire (FACQ-PC), Thai Burden Interview for Care of Chronic Disease Patients, General Health Questionnaire (GHQ), and Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI). Recommendations This research can be developed further by using more databases and can be configured according to the domains for caregivers who care for palliative patients.
