Abstract
Motivation to recover is a person's personal encouragement to take the desired action in order to recover from illness to become healthy. The problem that occurs is that there are still patients who have low motivation to recover even though they have been provided with good health services by nurses. This research aims to determine the caring process according to Swanson regarding the patient's motivation to recover at the surgical stage. The research design is quantitative with a true experiment method. The population of this study was 1,821 people with a total of 46 research respondents taken using random sampling techniques. Test Data analysis used univariate and bivariate tests. The bivariate test used paired T and Independent T tests. The results of the research showed that there was a significant difference in motivation to recover from the control group and the treatment group with a p value of 0.0001. With a mean value, the difference in the average recovery motivation score is 22.26. There is an influence of the Nurse Caring Process according to Swanson on the patient's motivation to recover. No encouragement to recover will hinder the recovery process from the pain experienced by the patient.
