Terapi Hipnosis untuk Mengatasi Masalah Psikologis Pasien dengan Kanker

Abstract

Asia accounts for almost half of all cancer cases worldwide, and the number of cancer patients is expected to continue to increase until 2040. Patients undergoing chemotherapy face not only physical but also psychological and emotional challenges, including anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, and fatigue that impact their quality of life. This review aimed to assess the effectiveness of hypnosis therapy as a complementary approach in managing psychological problems in cancer patients. This study implemented a systematic review with a strict protocol. Literature searches were conducted in several databases such as ScienceDirect, ProQuest, Taylor & Francis, Sage Journals, Oxford Academic, Springer Link, JSTOR and Scopus, with the keywords “cancer Patients” AND “hypnosis therapy” OR “hypnotherapy” AND “reduction in psychological problems”. Articles were screened based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, focusing on quantitative studies evaluating the impact of hypnosis therapy on psychological outcomes such as anxiety, depression, and overall well-being. This review found 7 articles related to hypnosis therapy on psychological problems in cancer patients. The review results indicated that hypnosis therapy has significant potential to manage psychological problems and improve the quality of life in cancer patients. Despite some limitations in the existing research, the available evidence supports the use of hypnosis as an effective complementary therapy. Further research is needed to confirm these findings and explore the mechanisms underlying the positive effects of hypnosis in cancer patients. Thus, it can be concluded that the integration of hypnosis in cancer care can provide significant benefits to patients, improving quality of life and reducing psychological burden.

ABSTRAK

Asia menyumbang hampir setengah dari seluruh kasus kanker di dunia, dan jumlah pasien kanker diperkirakan akan terus meningkat hingga tahun 2040. Pasien yang menjalani kemoterapi tidak hanya menghadapi tantangan fisik tetapi juga psikologis dan emosional, termasuk kecemasan, depresi, gangguan tidur, dan kelelahan yang berdampak terhadap kualitas hidup mereka. Review ini bertujuan untuk menilai efektivitas terapi hipnosis sebagai pendekatan komplementer dalam menangani masalah psikologis pada pasien kanker. Studi ini menerapkan tinjauan sistematis dengan protokol yang ketat. Pencarian literatur dilakukan di beberapa database seperti ScienceDirect, ProQuest, Taylor & Francis, Sage Journals, Oxford Academic, Springer Link, JSTOR dan Scopus, dengan kata kunci “cancer Patients” AND “hypnosis therapy” OR “hypnotherapy” AND “reduction in psychological problems”. Artikel disaring berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi yang spesifik, berfokus pada studi kuantitatif yang mengevaluasi dampak terapi hipnosis terhadap hasil psikologis seperti kecemasan, depresi, dan kesejahteraan secara keseluruhan. Review ini menemukan 7 artikel terkait terapi hipnosis pada masalah psikologis pasien kanker. Hasil review menunjukkan bahwa terapi hipnosis berpotensi secara signifikan untuk mengelola masalah psikologis dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien kanker. Meskipun terdapat beberapa keterbatasan dalam penelitian yang ada, bukti yang ada mendukung penggunaan hipnosis sebagai terapi pelengkap yang efektif. Penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk mengonfirmasi temuan ini dan mengeksplorasi mekanisme yang mendasari efek positif dari hipnosis pada pasien kanker. Dengan demikian, bisa disimpulkan bahwa integrasi hipnosis dalam perawatan kanker dapat memberikan manfaat yang signifikan bagi pasien, meningkatkan kualitas hidup dan mengurangi beban psikologis.
