Fast track: Prevalensi Nyeri Kepala pada Mahasiswa Keperawatan Anestesiologi Semester VII Universitas Harapan Bangsa Purwokerto
Abstract
Background: Headaches in seventh-semester students can be caused by stress resulting from high study, loads, tight assignments, deadlines, and increasingly complex academic demands. Research indicates that psychological or emotional factors, such as stress, depression, and anxiety, can trigger headaches. Primary headaches can significantly impact students, affecting their engagement in activities and academic performance. This study aims to determine the prevalence of headaches among nursing anesthesiology students in the seventh semester at Universitas Harapan Bangsa, Purwokerto. Methods: This study employed a descriptive quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. A simple random sampling technique was using the headache screening Questionnaire-Dutch Version (HSQ-DV). Statistical analysis was performed using univariate analysis and cross-tabulation with SPSS Version 26. Results: The study found that the most common type of headache was Tension-Type Headache (TTH), with a prevalence of 23.6% (probable TTH) and 3.3% (TTH). Meanwhile, the prevalence of migraines was 8.9% (probable migraine) and 1.6% (migraine). Additionally, headaches were more frequently reported by female students aged 17-25, with a headache frequency of 1-4 times per month. Conclusion: TTH headache is more commonly experienced by anesthesiology nursing students, especially women. Better management of academic stress, such as psychological interventions and health education, to prevent negative impacts on students and support academic success.
