Abstract

This systematic review aimed to examine the effectiveness of e-module–based contraceptive education in supporting informed contraceptive decision-making among women of reproductive age. A systematic review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines. Searches were performed in PubMed, ScienceDirect, ProQuest, and Google Scholar. Eligible studies were original quantitative or mixed-method research involving women of reproductive age, using e-module or digital contraceptive education, and reporting outcomes related to decision-making, knowledge, attitudes, or contraceptive choice. Data were synthesized narratively The findings showed that e-module–based contraceptive education improved knowledge, attitudes, and the quality of contraceptive decision-making. Several studies reported reduced decisional conflict, higher satisfaction, and better alignment of contraceptive choices with individual needs. Overall, digital education demonstrated comparable or greater effectiveness than conventional counseling. E-module–based contraceptive education is an effective strategy to enhance informed decision-making among women of reproductive age. Its integration into nursing practice and family planning services may support patient-centered care and improve reproductive health outcomes. Further high-quality studies are needed to evaluate long-term effects.
