Pengaruh Penyuluhan Dengan Media Slide pada Anak yang Mengalami Karies Gigi di Kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Samarinda Tahun 2019

Abstract


Dental caries is one of the chronic diseases that most often affects individuals of all ages. Observations on Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Samarinda have not been given any information about dental caries, even though there are students who have dental caries. This study aims to determine the effect of counseling with slide media on the knowledge of dental caries prevention in Class VII students of Samarinda State 3 Samarinda in 2019. This research was quasi experimental research with nonequivalent control group design, where the design was divided into intervention and control groups. The sample was Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Samarinda. Data analysis using paired sample t test. The results showed that the intervention after being given counseling with slide media obtained good knowledge totaling 25 respondents (83.3%) and poor knowledge totaling 5 respondents (16.7%). While the control after being educated obtained good knowledge totaling 12 respondents (40%) and poor knowledge totaling 18 respondents (60%). There was differences in knowledge about the prevention of dental caries in intervention and control respondents. There was an effect of counseling with slide media on knowledge about the prevention of dental caries. There was an effect of counseling with slide media on knowledge about the prevention of dental caries in Class VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Samarinda in 2019

ABSTRAK

Karies gigi merupakan salah satu penyakit kronis yang paling sering memengaruhi individu pada segala usia. Observasi pada siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Samarinda belum pernah diberikan penyuluhan tentang karies gigi, padahal terdapat siswa yang mengalami karies gigi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penyuluhan dengan media slide terhadap pengetahuan tentang pencegahan karies gigi pada siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Samarinda tahun 2019. Jenis penelitian quasi experimental dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design, dimana desain dibagi kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol. Sampel merupakan siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Samarinda. Analisis data menggunakan paired sampel t test.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intervensi setelah diberikan penyuluhan dengan media slide diperoleh pengetahuan baik berjumlah 25 responden (83,3%) dan pengetahuan kurang baik berjumlah 5 responden (16,7%). Sedangkan kontrol setelah diberikan edukasi diperoleh pengetahuan baik berjumlah 12 responden (40%) dan pengetahuan kurang baik berjumlah 18 responden (60%). Ada perbedaan pengetahuan tentang pencegahan karies gigi pada responden intervensi dan kontrol. Terdapat pengaruh penyuluhan dengan media slide terhadap pengetahuan tentang pencegahan karies gigi. Kesimpulan terdapat pengaruh penyuluhan dengan media slide terhadap pengetahuan tentang pencegahan karies gigi pada siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Samarinda.
