Kondisi Fisik Post Kemoterapi dan Self Efficacy Pasien Kanker di Rumah Sakit Bethesda Yogyakarta

Abstract

One of the cancer therapies, namely chemotherapy, causes physical effects such as alopecia, nausea, and other effects. Self efficacy can change the health behavior of cancer patients in a positive direction in carrying out treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between post-chemotherapy physical condition and self-efficacy of cancer patients at Bethesda Hospital, Yogyakarta. The design of this study was cross-sectional. The subjects of this study were 33 cancer patients in the post-chemotherapy phase, which were selected by accidental sampling technique. Data were collected through filling out the C-SAS and SUPPH questionnaires as measuring tools. From the results of Kendall's tau_b test, it is known that the p value = 0.301. Furthermore, it was concluded that there was no relationship between post-chemotherapy physical condition and self-efficacy. Future researchers need to pay attention to sample size, inclusion criteria and length of data collection in cancer patients with chemotherapy, which may reduce the accuracy of the study.

ABSTRAK

Salah satu terapi kanker yaitu kemoterapi menumbulkan dampak secara fisik seperti alopesia, mual, dan efek lainnya. Self efficacy dapat merubah perilaku kesehatan pasien kanker ke arah positif dalam menjalankan pengobatan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kondisi fisik post kemoterapi dengan self efficacy pasien kanker di Rumah Sakit Bethesda, Yogyakarta. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross-sectional. Subyek penelitian ini yaitu 33 pasien kanker pada fase post kemoterapi, yang dipilih dengan teknik accidental sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengisian kuesioner C-SAS dan SUPPH sebagai alat ukur. Dari hasil uji Kendall’s tau_b diketahui nilai p = 0.301. Selanjutnya disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan antara kondisi fisik post kemoterapi dengan self efficacy. Peneliti selanjutnya perlu memperhatikan ukuran sampel, kriteria inklusi dan lama pengambilan data pada pasien kanker dengan kemoterapi, yang mungkin menurunkan akurasi penelitian.
