Penilaian Budaya Keselamatan dengan Metode Safety Culture Assessment (SCA) di Perusahaan Pertambangan Nikel

Abstract


Safety Culture Assessment (SCA) is a method of assessing safety culture to provide a valid assessment in a company that has potential hazards. Safety culture assessment is useful for increasing awareness of safety culture in the workplace. This study aimed to assess the safety culture in a nickel mining company. This study was a descriptive study, involving 233 workers, selected using stratified random sampling techniques. The variables studied was safety culture in the workplace, which was measured using a safety culture assessment sheet, namely the SCA sheet which includes aspects: leadership, system, people, behavior and communication. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the majority assessment for each aspect were as follows: leadership was good (71.7%), system was good (84.5%), people was sufficient (47.6%), behavior was lacking (45.5%), communication was important (69.1%). This study concluded that the safety culture in this company is not optimal. It is expected that all parties in this company will also support the implementation of a safety culture.

ABSTRAK

 

Safety Culture Assessment (SCA) adalah metode penilaian budaya keselamatan untuk memberikan penilaian yang valid dalam suatu perusahaan yang memiliki potensi bahaya. Penilaian budaya keselamatan bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan kesadaran terkait budaya keselamatan di tempat kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai budaya keselamatan yang ada di perusahaan pertambangan nikel. Penelitian ini merupakan studi deskriptif, yang melibatkan 233 tenaga kerja, yang dipilih menggunakan teknik stratified random sampling. Variabel yang diteliti adalah budaya keselamatan di tempat kerja, yang diukur menggunakan lembar penilaian budaya keselamatan, yaitu lembar SCA yang meliputi aspek: leadership, system, people, behavior dan communication. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penilaian mayoritas untuk masing-masing aspek adalah sebagai berikut: leadership adalah baik (71,7%), system adalah baik (84,5%), people adalah cukup (47,6%), behavior adalah kurang (45,5%), communication adalah penting (69,1%). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa budaya keselamatan di perusahaan ini belum optimal. Diharapkan kepada seluruh pihak yang ada di perusahaan ini untuk turut adalah mendukung dalam penerapan budaya keselamatan.
