Abstract

Abstract

Cancer Patient Navigation Services are designed to facilitate patients' journeys within the healthcare system by reducing inequalities in access to health services. This research aims to explore the experiences of access inequalities encountered by cancer patients in receiving cancer patient navigation services from Cancer Patient Navigators (NAPAK) using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with ten participants selected using purposive sampling at Dharmais Cancer Hospital. The study findings identified four themes: 1) Various inequalities in access to health services; 2) The role of cancer patient navigators; 3) Transportation access; and 4) The impact of access experiences on health. This research is expected to provide important insights into the experiences of access inequalities faced by patients in receiving cancer patient navigation services from Cancer Patient Navigators (NAPAK). This, the results of this study can be used as a basis for designing training, guidelines, or policies that are more relevant and responsive to the needs of healthcare providers in addressing accessibility issues for cancer patients.
