PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN VIDEO EDUKASI MENYIKAT GIGI TERHADAP KEBERSIHAN GIGI DAN MULUT PADA SISWA SDN 54 KOTA BANDA ACEH
Abstract
The use of videos can motivate students to improve dental and oral hygiene by observing and practicing according to what they see and hear. Based on the results of initial examinations carried out by researchers on 10 class V students, the researchers found that 8 of them had a poor dental and oral hygiene status with an average score of 3.2. The research aims to determine the effect of using educational videos on brushing teeth on oral hygiene among students at SDN 54 Banda Aceh City. This type of research uses Quasi Experiment using pre-post test with One group Design. Data were collected by examining the oral hygiene status before and after education which was carried out on 9 and 15 May 2024. The research population was class V students. The sampling technique was random sampling, totaling 48 students. Data analysis used the Paired T-Test statistical test. The results of the research showed that dental and oral hygiene before being given an educational video on brushing the teeth of class V students was mostly moderate, amounting to 43 people (89.6%). Meanwhile, dental and oral hygiene after being given an educational video on brushing the teeth of class V students was mostly good, numbering 36 people (75%). It can be concluded that there was a decrease in the value of dental and oral hygiene status after being given the educational video on brushing teeth from 20.0625 to 6.9167, which means that there was an influence before and after the use of the educational video on brushing teeth on dental and oral hygiene with a P value of 0.000 < 0.005 and the difference in mean value is 13.1. It is hoped that students can increase their knowledge by actively reading and studying dental and oral health.
