Introduction: Diabetes mellitus type 2 (T2DM) is a rapidly developing health problem in the world and Indonesia that causes various complications. One problem that is often encountered in patients with diabetes mellitus is diabetes distress. Diabetes distress causes low self-confidence in treating diabetes independently and this can lead to poor self-care and ultimately glycemic control is also bad. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship of self efficacy with the behavior and accuracy of independent foot care measures. Method: this study is a cross sectional study with a sample of 54 respondents with consecutive sampling techniques in outpatients with diabetes mellitus in the Lingsar Health Center. Data collected through filling questionnaires and then analyzed through descriptive and inferential analysis. Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between self efficacy and behavior (p = 0,000) and accuracy of action (p = 0,000). Conclusion: self efficacy has a significant relationship to the behavior and accuracy of actions in performing foot care independently. Nurses in providing nursing interventions, especially in outpatient paisen also pay attention and help build patient confidence in conducting care independently as an effort to prevent complications
